Obama rules out US troops in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama says he will consult with Pakistan's leaders before going after terrorist hideouts in their country.

He also wants Pakistan to be more accountable, but is ruling out deploying U.S. troops there.

In Obama's words, his Afghanistan strategy “does not change the recognition of Pakistan as a sovereign government.''
